Making Up Without Endless Apologies

Instead of apologizing endlessly, there are a few things to do that will be much more effective. Starting with, don’t say I’m sorry if you did nothing wrong. If your ex just isn’t that into you any more, maybe you did nothing wrong. Apologizing can make you sound pathetic.
Next, if you did something wrong that you need to apologize for, that’s a good thing to understand. To get your ex back, you need to understand what caused the break, and if it was something you did, you better be ready to apologize for it.
However, before you apologize, you need to do a few things first or your apology wont work. Lets say you had an affair and that’s why you lost your ex. You definitely did something wrong! Instead of rushing in and saying I’m sorry, start by admitting what you did wrong. Your ex needs to know that you understand you did wrong. So own up to it. Do not justify or try to explain yourself.
Next, get them to vent. Before you ever say I’m sorry, get your ex to tell you how they feel about what you did. Let them get their bad feelings off their chest. If they want to yell at you or cry or attack you, you take it. You don’t argue or defend yourself. You just let them vent. Venting releases their negative feelings some.
So fess up to what you did and then get them to release and vent their negative feelings. If you do those things first, your apology will come across a lot better and have a much better chance of being accepted.
